Investment in original TV programming, 2008-12

The ground-breaking report, Investment in original TV programming, 2008-12: Analysis of original commission expenditure in W Europe, analyses expenditure in original commission content by TV broadcasters across Europe between 2008-12.

‘Original commission content’ is defined in this report as all TV programming except: news, sport and acquisitions (i.e. films, TV series/one-offs – typically these are American imports). It includes repeats, where the broadcaster was the original commissioner of the content. It also includes content made internally by the broadcaster, or commissioned from an external producer (typically referred to as an ‘indie’) – it does not differentiate between these two production sources.

Please see the executive summary link at the bottom of this page for further insight into this report.
